The incident occurred on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at Kofar Dawanau Quarters in Kano metropolis.
Police spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, said the suspect engaged in a heated quarrel with his grandfather, Muhammad Dansokoto, 75, and grandmother, Hadiza Tasidi, 65, before attacking them with a knife. Both victims sustained multiple injuries and were rushed to Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital, where doctors confirmed them dead. Their remains have since been buried in accordance with Islamic rites.
